In 1997 a friend introduced Dacia to yoga. Due to illness and low energy, she found class to be a challenge. But the similar stretching she learned previously from gymnastics kept bringing her back to class. Over the course of many years and the influence of Forrest Yoga she now feels most alive and integrated when she is on the mat. Yoga has allowed her to journey and grow from a place of fear and anxiety to being more present and grounded. She now sees that life is a choice to create and celebrate and she is excited to share that with her students.

Dacia’s teaching style uses the lessons and gifts of everyday life and weaves them into class allowing her students to feel in their bodies, riding the waves of their breath to discover their own emotional healing and well being. Dacia allows a safe space for her students to explore their own inner knowing, feeling and emotions which have a tendency to be discouraged or diminished in our lives and in society. She encourages students to exercise these “muscles” so they too can feel integrated and whole.

Dacia is a certified yoga teacher and recently completed the Foundation Training with Ana Forrest. She uses the Forrest 4 Pillars of Breath, Strength, Integrity, and Spirit in her class with pranayama, core/abdominal work, stretching and strengthening with awareness and focus and also creating community. She is a trained Natural Foods Personal Chef and believes what we put in our bodies plays an integral part of our overall wellness. She strives to live a life of intention, personal growth and connection to Spirit and is grateful to have yoga on this journey.
